On this day, hundreds of historic sites across Austria will open their doors and invite visitors to rediscover our cultural heritage with free admission. Under the theme “Historic Sites: Value for Everyone,” the event highlights the social, cultural, environmental, and economic value that historic sites hold for all of us. The Hotel Austria and the Lehárvilla are participating in the event and offering a behind-the-scenes look.

"Hans Sarsteiner" Guided Tour

Guided tour offering insights into the museum’s storage facility—the Sarsteiner Collection—with a focus on restoration, research, and digital archiving. Hans Sarsteiner (1839–1918) was a successful hotelier and world traveler. The impressive collection of travel artifacts he brought to Bad Ischl is preserved in the museum and offers fascinating insights into history, culture, and travel.

Guided Tours: 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. | 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. | 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
