Wolfram Huber Reads Stefan Zweig

The relatively unknown novella selected by Huber comes from the poet’s estate; he was a frequent guest in Bad Ischl. It was successfully adapted into a film in 1989, starring Christiane Hörbiger and Klausjürgen Wussow, and tells the story—from the perspective of a doctor’s wife—of her encounter with a down-and-out old man in a Tyrolean mountain village, where she has retreated to escape her overwhelming workload. Stefan Zweig tells a gripping and touching story with great psychological insight.
